Sustainability Policy

Vitrify cares deeply about the environment and is committed to minimising the impacts of its activities by operating in a sustainable way.

So, what are we doing?

REDUCING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

Unlike many of our competitors, Vitrify is a true manufacturer-brand. All our enamelled products, for which we are famed, are lovingly made in our Worcestershire-based factory. The remaining items sold under our brand are carefully sourced from within the UK. So, by purchasing from us, you can be assured of a product that hasn’t left a long trail of pollutants in its wake.

MANUFACTURING EFFICIENCIES

We are in the business of manufacturing. Our custom-built factory is made from state-of-the-art thermally insulated panels, vastly more energy efficient than traditional bricks and mortar. Moreover, we only use high-efficiency LED lighting. This saves us money and reduces the environmental impact of the business.

SUPPLY CHAIN COMMITMENTS

Like all manufacturers, we source materials from third-party sources: bullion, jewellery components, enamels, and so on. In all cases, we strive to work only with companies who share our commitment to protecting the environment. We seek assurances in this regard and favour those with recognised environmental management accreditations, such as ISO 14000.

PACKAGING

Our packaging is distinct and exudes luxury. To minimise wastage, we have purposely used the same boxes and pouches for different product types. This rationalisation enables us to reduce our packaging stock levels across the business. All outer boxes are 100% recyclable.

GIVING BACK TO THE ENVIRONMENT

We believe it’s not enough to reduce, reuse and recycle – the three R’s rule to sustainability. We would add another: revive! At our manufacturing facility, deep in the Worcestershire countryside, we have actively engaged with the natural habitat around us. We have erected several bird boxes, some of which house swifts; and, we have planted a wildflower meadow to support the dwindling population of native pollinators: butterflies, moths and bees.

The global challenge of protecting the environment will define the next decade. Vitrify is proud to be part of the shift to a sustainable future.

Vitrify – a company that cares about the environment.
